Reds in the Eternal City Edition

Whenever I prepare to write something for the newsletter, I try to go through recent news about things happening in the Church to glean some inspiration or I look for a saint-related story that applies to the current crisis in the Church.  This week, as I was perusing the news, I started reading about Pope Francis’ address to the World Meeting of Popular Movements (WMPM) … an initiative he started in 2017.

Several news sources grabbed the low-hanging fruit of Pope Francis’ call for “big tech” to enact further censorship protocols.  In his address, Pope Francis said:

“In the name of God, I ask the technology giants to stop exploiting human weakness, people’s vulnerability, for the sake of profits without caring about the spread of hate speech, grooming, fake news, conspiracy theories, and political manipulation.”

While this is a disturbing call for many reasons, it’s not the worst thing about the event.  I remembered giving some comments on the first WMPM event to Church Militant when they covered it, pointing out that three of the organizations helping to organize it (PICO, Gamaliel, and the CCHD) all had ties to Marxism, and decided to give the main organizers another look.  I hadn’t looked too closely at the WMPM in 2017 because I was deep in an investigation into Catholic Relief Services and didn’t have time.  But looking back, I see that the “regional organizers” of the WMPM in the United States is a virtual who’s who of Marxist entities receiving funding and support from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

The WMPM website identifies several organizations that participated in the 2017 WMPM:

  • Direct Action & Research Training Center (DART)
  • Gamaliel Foundation
  • Homeboy Industries
  • Interfaith Worker Justice
  • Jesuit Ministries of the Jesuit Conference of Canada & the United States
  • National Domestic Workers Alliance
  • PICO National Network
  • Service Employees International Union
  • U.S. Federation of Worker Cooperatives
DART, Gamaliel, and PICO are all children of Saul Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF).  Interfaith Worker Justice was created by a Marxist named Kim Bobo.  You can read how the Gamaliel Foundation lied directly to the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), and the Marxist leadership of Interfaith Worker Justice in this article, here.  The PICO Network has since changed its name to Faith in Action, and we’ve exposed their recent work to get Joe Biden elected (in violation of CCHD guidelines), while promoting violent riots, LGBT activism, and abortion.  You can read those articles hereherehere, and here.  Homeboy Industries is run by dissident Jesuit, Fr. Greg Boyle, who was caught advocating for same-sex marriage and women’s ordination to the priesthood.  The National Domestic Workers’ Alliance is staunchly pro-abortion and pro-LGBT

And the Jesuit Ministries do exactly what you would expect modernist Jesuits to do.

But what really got my attention was the list of organizations connected to the recent WMPM which Pope Francis addressed just six days ago.  On the website of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Integral Human Development is a page regarding this recent meeting, and it identifies the organizations that are on the “organizing committee.”  Those organizations are:
  • Landless Workers Movement (MST)
  • Movement of Excluded Workers (MTE)
  • Union of Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP)
  • National Slum Dwellers Federation
  • Slum Dwellers International (SDI)
  • Catholic Action Workers Brotherhood (HOAC)
  • World Movement of Christian Workers (WMCW)
  • PICO Network
  • Mediterranean Saving Humans

Two weeks ago, we published a bombshell of a report on the Vatican’s ties to the Communist organization called the World Social Forum.  What is interesting is how the recent World Meeting of Popular Movements ties in with the World Social Forum.  You’ll notice at the top of the list is the organization called “Landless Workers Movement (MST).”  Well, MST is one of the first leading organizations of the World Social Forum in 2001.

Just to give you an idea of how rotten MST is, and why it should have NOTHING to do with anything related to the Catholic Church, this celebration of Karl Marx’s 203rd birthday was published on the MST website, saying:

“For Marx, human societies only progress through conflicts between the bourgeois class, which controls the means of production, and the proletariat, which supplies the labor force. In the author's view, the history of humanity is permeated by class struggle. That is why the revolution is so urgent and must be carried out by the working classes.”

I’ve been researching and warning of the Marxist influence in the Catholic Church for over a decade, and many people of good will just wave it off as a fringe movement “on the peripheries” of the Church.  Well, now we have proof that it is center stage at the Vatican, and its influence goes all the way to the top.

We’ve already begin putting together a major report on this situation, and I ask for your prayers as we put it all together.  I’ll send you a notification when this new report is complete.

Lepanto Institute supporters Mark and Eva Valencia wrote me last week asking for help.  Below is their plea, and if you are in a position to help them, please do.  From Mark:

My wife Eva was admitted into The Hospital due to serious complications from pregnancy on August 25th. On August 31st she was diagnosed with Covid, I also contracted it. It has been a very challenging and difficult time for us. Our situation is compounded by the fact that we live in a new city and state with no immediate family. I am also in-between contracts (I work in IT) and because of my Wife’s situation it’s been a challenge finding a job that will accommodate our current situation that is unraveling.

We have 3 small children (5, 3 and 1 ½ years old) and are trying to figure out child care, etc.…They are currently in our former home state because of our Covid diagnosis. They have been there since September 2nd but as we said we are trying to figure things out on care for them while they are there with their grandparents.

Seeking help like this is humbling and not something we expected to have to do but we are praying that by God’s Grace a lot of helping hands can help us mitigate the costs that seem to be piling up on us.

We have been told that we will be in the hospital for at least the next month and our baby will be in the NICU until at least the end of October (or until they can eat and breathe on their own.). Thus far he has dealt with a small hernia, breathing issues and anemia. He has to hit certain milestones in order to be released.

We can really use everyone’s prayers, they really are the best thing we can ask for.

If you are able to, we appreciate any help with the rapidly accumulating costs during this difficult time in our lives. Additionally, if you can please share our fundraiser on your social media it would be of great help to us all. We have no real social media presence to speak of. We have included our GoFundme information below as well as a couple of alternatives.

Thank you all so very much for your kindness and especially your prayers.
